The Friends of the Library continue to support library projects and expand their community service efforts by sponsoring programs such as the ongoing Career Connections Job Club since September, 2012, which offers assistance to jobseekers with all aspects of job search techniques, as well as support and networking opportunities. Their generosity has also included programs for children featuring Chip Bryant, the Clown, for the End-of-Summer Reading Celebration and more recently, Puppeteer Katie Polk. They continue to fund cultural and educational programs such as the Capitol Heights Lyric Opera’s Immortal Italian Love Songs and our current concert series. The library’s movie programs, as well as passes to the Cradle of Aviation Museum and the Nassau County Museum of Art, are also funded by the Friends.
