Book Discussions

  • Arm Chair Historian

If you enjoy discussing the big issues of the day, along with a helathy dose of history, politics and religion, the Armchair Historians Book Club is for you. Moderated by librarian Chris Schnupp, it attracts like minded readers who enjoy Chris' input on the mix of non-fiction, biography and fiction selections offered. Authors such as Doris Kearns Goodwin, Erik Larson and David McCullough are just a few of those whose books have been enjoyed by the members on a monthy basis at evening meetings.

  • Classic Delights Book Club

Certain books live in our minds forever and each time we read them, we discover more about the beloved characters and our selves as we journey into the world of great ideas and even greater literature. Librarian Nylah Schneider leads these bi-monthly evening discussions on favorites such as Thomas Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles and Willa Cather's Death Comes to the Archbishop.

  • Page Turner Book Club

From baseball to the Holocaust, family relationships to English royalty, current economic conditions to sorcery, the Page Turners involve themselves in social, historical and economic issues all wrapped up in fiction, non-fiction and biographies by authors such as Geraldine Brooks, J.K. Rowling and J.R. Moehringer.
